'Supernatural' Convention Experience
I know how silly it must be for me to be writing about this, but I thought that it would be a good idea to share how going to a Supernatural convention helped me with my mental health. Imagine watching a TV show for 13 years and then finally meeting the cast of that show. You would be pretty excited wouldn't you? Well for me, the convention did just that. I have been dealing with depression and a very bad panic disorder for the last couple years now. And when I heard about the conventions, I thought why not try it out to see if I'll like it. Never was I expecting the actors to be so sweet, welcoming, understanding, funny, and very random. A huge thank you goes to Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Richard Speight Jr., Rob Benedict, Rachel Miner, Misha Collins, and everyone else at the convention that I met that weekend. Because of them, I felt like I belonged somewhere for once. Which is rare for me. Jared managed to calm me down when I had a panic attack meeting him, and Misha spoke to me to calm me down while I was getting his autograph. Laughing was the only way that I could seem to avoid the reality of what was actually going on. But Misha didn't care at all that I was laughing and making a huge embarrassment of myself. He just smiled and just spoke to me like it was the most normal thing he has ever seen and I really appreciated that he did that. No, that wasn't sarcasm. It was honesty. Richard and Rob made me promise them to have fun and to enjoy my weekend. And when I first met them I panicked, so they hugged me to calm me down. To anyone who doesn't even watch the show that is reading this, give it a chance. The actors are so involved with their fans at these conventions. Going to that convention in DC was the best idea I've ever had. Many places I go to, I don't feel welcomed or loved like I did when I was at that convention. I felt like the world didn't hate me for once. I plan on going to more conventions because I have yet to find another place that I felt that feeling and I need to feel it again. And even to those cast members I haven't met yet but I will be meeting soon at another convention, I've been talking to them through social media. Like David Haydn Jones and Jason Manns. I just wish people could understand why fans love Supernatural so much. The actors will treat you like family no matter what. Post-con depression is also a real thing. The fans get so attached to everyone that when the convention ends, they feel sad. I cried on the last day of the convention because I didn't want it to end. Now my sister, step-dad, and I will be going to more of these conventions since we had so much fun in D.C. On the way to the convention hotel, we saw the Washington monument and the Pentagon. The convention we're going to in September is a few minutes from New York. We will probably go sightseeing again. Photo ops with the actors allows you to get close to them for a few quick seconds and then you have to leave. It happens quite literally in the blink of an eye. During autographs you can actually talk to them. That goes by slower than photo ops. Think about it.

East Coast ComicCon Founder Bans 'Hercules' Actor Kevin Sorbo for Political Reasons...
In a sad attempt to garner some free press for the little-know EastCoast ComicCon, founder Cliff Galbraith banned actor Kevin Sorbo from the event because he’s friends with conservative radio host and Fox News commentator Sean Hannity. Galbraith said, "I turned down Kevin Sorbo for East Coast Comicon. He’s pals with Sean Hannity. I just can’t do it."

The Truth About Some
I have stayed silent for so long, and it is impressive to think I haven't spoken out about these things until now. I suppose it is from the fear of being targeted by these people. They are the Templars of this world, seeking to control all in their wake without protest. And when others do protest this control, their actions, the protesters are silenced by any means necessary.

Arisia: A Review
It started off with a simple question at one AM on Friday morning: "Do you want to go to a new con with some of our friends?" It was the standard question we all, as cosplayers, have asked at least once each year, some upwards of ten or more times. This time the answer was, "Sure, we have enough for a one day pass." And it was the best decision we have ever made at one in the morning on a Friday of a con.

How to be Convention Ready!
Conventions. Amazing events where people of all different likings, hobbies, and fandoms can come together (usually in costume) and swap pictures, buy items, and see other cosplays. Specifically, this article will talk about how to survive a fandomized (anime, tv show, cosplay) convention. Conventions are meant to be fun, exciting, stress-free times for people to be with others who share their interests. Well, this is what the convention wants us to feel, while in all actuality conventions usually end up being relatively stressful. However, this does not need to be the case, I have interviewed several fellow conventioneers, my cosplayer friends, as well as collecting information from my previous experiences, in order to give you "How to be Convention Ready: Rules and Advice."

BSCCC: A Review

Hyper Japan Christmas Market
It's been another successful and fun convention. Hyper Japan has always been one of my favourite conventions for specialising in all things related to Japanese culture and the geekery goodness inspired by it. Even though I only came for the day, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and stayed there longer than planned. I've mainly attended Hyper Japan for shopping, but this time I feel like I've been able to enjoy the convention for what it really is about: the entertainment, workshops, and making new friends along the day.

BSCC Hires Child Molester
No you did not read that title wrong. IMAGE LLC event Boston South Coast Comic Con has hired Sci-Fi Photo Guys which is owned and operated by Sexual Predator Daniel Silverman. For those of you that are unaware Sci-Fi Photo Guys provides a unique service to cosplayers. If a cosplayer wants a photo done they simply get in front of a green screen and they choose a background of their choice. While its a service not done often for conventions this doesn't excuse IMAGE LLC or the coordinators of Boston South Coast Comic Con from hiring them and choosing to keep them on thus far.

A Comprehensive Look Into the Anime Boston Lawsuit
This week has been a roller-coaster ride for those representing NEAS, IMAGE, and Fantastic Gathering Inc in court. Throughout social media I see many fans taking sides without a complete understanding of what the complaints consist of being over zealous and rather pointed in their decision to support the side they feel should win. This needs to be clear; a legal suit is not a competition of who runs a better show or is just more supportive. Both conventions have good and bad aspects, every show has its own flaws, by no means does this mean the one you think is better should win, this is a clear cut and dry issue of infringement and should not be taken so lightly.

Anime Boston Parent Suing Fantastic Gatherings Inc.
Tempers are on the rise in the Anime Community today when Fantastic Gatherings Inc. announced they were being sued by Anime Boston's Parent company The New England Anime Society (NEAS) for their "Boston Anime Festival" logo.
