More Songs That Make Me Feel More Alive
It's been six years since I posted my article Songs That Make Me Feel Alive Again. The songs in that list certainly still hold up and serve as a time capsule for what I was dealing with and how I was feeling at that moment in time. But the best thing about music is that people keep making it. There's so much new music as well as old music that's new to me. It continues it's pursuit of filling and fueling me and making me feel emotions I can't even give names to. So, to honor my original article's fifth birthday (which I actually think is in September, but disregard), here are more songs that make me feel more alive. In no particular order...

Beau Nectar Unpack Obsession and Collapse on “Tulip,” Featuring Vox Rea
Bilingual electro-pop duo Beau Nectar, made up of singer-songwriters Marie-Clo and éemi, return with “Tulip,” a striking new single that blends sharp pop instincts with historical reflection. Featuring Vancouver’s acclaimed electro-pop duo Vox Rea, the track is a vibrant and unsettling meditation on beauty, obsession, and the inevitability of collapse. Taken from their upcoming album Dandy, out May 2026 via Indica Records, “Tulip” reframes a little-known moment in history as a mirror for the modern world’s volatile standards of value and desire.

Playlist: one old favourite, two new
That Clare - Get Away Anyone who rates Songs of Faith and Devotion as her all-time favourite album and picks out Cabaret as another major influence is alright in my book. Teesside’s That Clare produces elegantly dystopian electro pop with a strong political slant.

Greg Boyer Reflects on Emotional Stillness in “Perfectly Gone”
Veteran songwriter Greg Boyer has long been celebrated for his ability to convey emotion with subtlety, and his latest release, “Perfectly Gone,” is a testament to that artistry. The track is a spare, thoughtful folk-pop reflection shaped by restraint, atmosphere, and emotional economy. Inspired by a breakup and written during a period immersed in rockabilly and folk influences, the song does not unfold as a lament. Instead, it presents a moment of calm acceptance, an acknowledgment rather than a reckoning. The result is music that moves with quiet precision, allowing listeners to inhabit the space between thought and feeling.

When the City Slept
The city had a rhythm all its own, and it was at night that the true pulse became clear. Streetlights flickered along empty roads, casting long shadows that stretched like fingers across the cracked pavement. Neon signs buzzed faintly, a reminder that life still thrived somewhere beyond the silence. For Arman, the night was when he truly belonged.
