Your Heart. Your Lifeđź«€
Poem of Plainly speaking. ❤️
Our bodies! Systems that are supposed to be orderly. But in truth...they are held together by something wild, fragile, and uncooperative. Yet, a much deeper tension rules beneath it all.
The heart...the mirror of that tension ~ an organ that refuses to obey, yet everything depends on it.
It’s the perfect metaphor for the parts of life that rule us quietly: emotion, instinct, longing, grief, desire, fear ~ forces that do not listen to reason but shape everything.
❤️ The unruly heart’s power is absolute.
It refuses to be reasoned with. It does not pause for debate...does not care for strategy, hierarchy, or the brain’s endless attempts to impose order.
It is the one organ that never sleeps, never delegates, never steps aside. Even the brain...so proud of its thinking...can be quieted, dimmed, or even temporarily shut down. But the heart? The heart must continue. Its rebellion is life itself.
❤️
You are young and your heart is a wonder machine that keeps pumping life-giving fluid to your entire body...you are invincible...For the first thirty years or so, you dare and defy life - "I am immortal, you can't touch me". Life tries its best to thwart you...but not you - you just keep on winning.
Wonderful. Keep on doing what you are doing - for surely your choice method of living is truly paying off.
Still, there are a few unlucky among the young, who meet the other side of life far too early, and their hearts do not beat to the drum of the immortal youthful lullaby. Our hearts go out to them.
Here is the awful truth.
There is no guarantee that your heart will cooperate with your plans. It knocks you down, when you least expect it...young or old.
Learn...listen to the rhythm of your body...particularly your heart - it is constantly speaking to you. Tune in keenly...listen deeply.
Lead with your heart. It is literally made of love.
It soars to great heights when happy...truly - you feel invincible, ready to conquer and transcend mortality.
Sadness breaks your heart - literally.
The heart rules your life...it does not cooperate, comply or listen to demands or advice.
If it stops working...You die.đź«€ Everything collapses...
Other organs in your body malfunction...yet, they adapt, limp along, or compensate.
But the heart is the singular point of no return.
If it falters, the entire system follows.
If it stops, the story ends.
There is something almost romantically mystical in that:
I speak from first hand knowledge...my thankful existence is tethered to a fist-sized muscle that never once asked my permission. It just broke. I was lucky to be saved by a wonderful Cardiac team.
The heart is sovereign...placed upon a throne. It rules by pulse, by insistence, by a rhythm older than knowledge. It does not negotiate with the brain’s logic or the liver’s chemistry or the lungs’ steady counsel. It simply beats, and the rest of the body rearranges itself around that decree.

That heart. We really should have a few in our bodies. One is just not enough for what life throws at us. But such great advice. Love the song.
Ugh, if can, I don't wanna have a heart. It just feels emotions too intensely and makes me overwhelmed, lol. Loved this!
Always come from love! Love it!💜💚🩵
Your writing mirrors your wild heart. I always enjoy a poem that sets its own rules. I would call this "heartfelt," but that's a bit much, no? The poem's style is an ideal match for the theme of the poem. Really well done!
