The War Dragon
A Pantoum Inspired By "Death of the Dragon (1914-18) " by Evelyn De Morgan

Introduction
This is an ekphrastic pantoum inspired by the image below that contains references to the First World War. In my poem, I weave observations on the painting with thoughts about that terrible conflict.
The music is Eric Bogle's "The Green Fields Of France (No Man's Land)" by The Dropkick Murphys
And that final scene from "Blackadder"
The War Dragon

Frightened Soldiers, Scared Of Kingdom Come
Sent Over The Top, Their Lives Forfeit
