The Geisha
///
I am the geisha of the night.
I smile sweetly with the rhythm of the shamisen.
Under the dimly lit light of the karaoke company.
I do not degrade my body.
I sell the moment.
I always smile.
A fan of silk.
///
I know when to speak
and when to fall silent with dignity.
I am a gaze that knows.
///
My art?
The discipline of the soul.
And tonight, alone
with my imagination.
///
The vision before me
does not conjure up judgments.
It is the revelation itself.
It waits for a sign
to wipe the floor of the soul.
It waits for a sign
to wipe the floor of silence.
With the long kimono
and without an apron.
Bathed in blue light.
///
She is my mentor.
She who nurtured me for years.
The board of the souls
has beautiful words.
It brings her close to me often.
///
I am human.
Do not fear.
Sometimes a woman,
sometimes a shadow.
Who asks for everything
and gives question marks.
///
A/N:
Aren't we all geishas?
With hair or with lipstick?
Silence nods at me.
(For the silent warriors of light)

Manuel, this is a profound piece. The line 'I sell the moment' is a powerful reminder of how we all navigate the roles we play. I love the imagery of the kimono wiping the floor of silence—it’s such a dignified way to describe the work of the soul. We truly are all 'silent warriors of light' in our own ways. Thank you for this revelation.
We all need geishas in our life
