She stood behind bright laughter.

Her sister gathered the light.

Rooms turned to the shining one.

While she stayed near the wall.

Two faces nearly the same.

Yet the world chose only one.

Praise followed every step.

Silence settled on her.

She sat in her sister’s shadow.

Year after quiet year.

Words waited inside her chest.

But never reached the air.

When crowds came she stepped back.

Her sister stepped forward first.

Eyes followed the brighter path.

And never searched for her.

Time moved with patient feet.

Days folded into years.

She carried an unseen weight.

No one paused to notice.

Sometimes she almost spoke.

Sometimes she nearly stood tall.

Yet the shadow held her close.

And the moment passed on.

Till the still day finally came.

Her breath grew faint and thin.

She left this waiting world.

Still hidden from the light.
