Harry Potter Actors Who Also Appeared in Bridgerton (Plus a Hidden Easter Egg You Might Have Missed)

From Hogwarts to Bridgerton - actors who appeared in both worlds

If you’re a Harry Potter fan like me, watching Bridgerton, you might get the feeling that some faces look familiar. And you’re not imagining things. Several actors who appeared in the Harry Potter films later showed up in the Bridgerton world. Some of them had small roles, others were more recognizable, but once you notice it, it’s hard to unsee.

Here’s a breakdown of the actors who crossed over from Hogwarts to the Bridgerton universe, including which Harry Potter films they appeared in and where they show up in Bridgerton.

Let’s get started.

1. Freddie Stroma

Freddie Stroma might be one of the most noticeable crossovers between the two worlds.

In Harry Potter, he played Cormac McLaggen, the overly confident Gryffindor student who tries out for the Quidditch team. He appeared in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Film 6) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (Film 7).

In Bridgerton, he plays Prince Friedrich of Prussia in Season 1. His character is introduced as a potential suitor for Daphne Bridgerton during the social season. While he’s charming and respectful, the story eventually takes a different direction.

2. Regé-Jean Page

Before becoming the Duke of Hastings in Bridgerton, Regé-Jean Page had a very small appearance in the Harry Potter universe.

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (Film 7), he appears briefly as a wedding guest during Bill and Fleur’s wedding scene. It’s a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, but fans later noticed the connection.

In Bridgerton, he plays Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings. You see him in Season 1, when his storyline with Daphne Bridgerton becomes one of the central romances of the series.

3. Katie Leung

Katie Leung is best known to Harry Potter fans as Cho Chang, Harry’s first love interest at Hogwarts.

She appeared in several Harry Potter films:

• Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Film 4)

• Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Film 5)

• Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Film 6)

• Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (Film 8)

In Bridgerton, she appears as Lady Araminta Gun in Season 4, where her character plays an important role in the Sophie Beckett storyline.

4. Michelle Fairley

This is a fun one because it connects Mrs. Granger and Princess Augusta.

In Harry Potter, Michelle Fairley played Mrs. Granger, Hermione’s mother, in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 (Film 7).

In the Bridgerton universe, she appears as Princess Augusta in the prequel series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, where she plays a major role across all six episodes. So if Princess Augusta looked familiar but you couldn’t place her, that might be why.

5. Guy Henry

Guy Henry is another crossover that Harry Potter fans might recognize.

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 and Part 2, he played Pius Thicknesse.

In the Bridgerton universe, he appears in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story as Dr. John Monro, the physician connected to King George’s treatment.

Hidden Easter Egg: The 36-37 Shoe Clip Crossover

There’s also a small detail that Harry Potter fans might notice while watching Bridgerton.

In Season 4, Lady Araminta (played by Katie Leung) complains that she used to have 37 shoe clips but now only has 36.

The funny part is that Katie Leung also played Cho Chang in the Harry Potter films. And in the Harry Potter universe, there’s a well-known scene where Dudley Dursley complains about the number of presents he received, saying he got 36 gifts when he expected 37.

It might just be a coincidence, but the number 36-37 feels like a fun little crossover moment.

If you like spotting small Bridgerton details like this, I also wrote another article called “Bridgerton Season 4: 15 Fun Facts You Probably Missed (Plus the Real History Behind Them)”, where I break down some hidden meanings and historical details behind the season.

I’m curious to see which other crossover faces might show up in the Bridgerton world in the future!

Which crossover surprised you the most?
